Out of the Shadows. Oaks on East Boundary Trail
We were hiking in Montana de Oro in early April. We hiked the new Hazard Peak Trail and went on to the East Boundary Trail, which we had never done. I liked the gnarled old oaks and the sun filtering through them onto the new grass. Down in the canyon were chaparral and open grass, with fields of flowers. I used Wallis paper and a dry underpainting. I like the blend of colors on the oaks and the bright sunlight effects.
